Two Quotes From Our Past

Subject: Two quotes from the Civil War.Does this sound familiar:

"It appears we have appointed our worst generals to command forces, and our most gifted and brilliant to edit newspapers. In fact, I discovered by reading newspapers that these editor/geniuses plainly saw all my strategic defects from the start, yet failed to inform me until it was too late.

"Accordingly, I am readily willing to yield my command to these obviously superior intellects, and I will, in turn, do my best for the Cause by writing editorials - after the fact."

- Robert E. Lee, 1863

"Congressmen who willfully take actions during wartime that damage morale, and undermine the military are saboteurs and should be arrested, exiled or hanged."

~ President Abraham Lincoln

We would have a hard time to believe that our major newspaper editors and US Representatives in Washington heed lessons of the past. Because of this it's virtually guranteed that we're bound to repeat the past in the future. You have a right, even an obligation to voice or pen your opinion with those who ignore history.
Thanks for visiting. -- Bob

Your Lincoln quote is totally bogus, as has been reported thousands of times on the Internet. Not only did Lincoln never utter such words, he protested against the Mexican War in the late 1840s. It cost him his seat in Congress because of negative reaction from the pseudo-patriots of his time. You should try reading a little more history.
